The BIJ team is committed to working with partners and stakeholders to ensure access to a manageable continuum of programs and support services that nurtures the progressive development of entrepreneurial minds and passion.
To help support their mission, BIJ is looking for a Manager, Fund Development to join the team of highly dedicated professionals.
Reporting to the Director of Business is Jammin’, the Manager, Fund Development will focus on seeking donations and fundraising and is tasked with growing a well-managed portfolio of prospects and donors to support youth entrepreneurship development throughout Nova Scotia. Working closely with the BIJ team/Board, the Manager, Fund Development will grow a portfolio of donors at various stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation and active giving. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing donors, as well as identifying external prospects with the ability to make gifts exceeding $5,000 dollars, the incumbent will be an active and effective fundraising leader and will demonstrate creative and strategic initiative in conceptualizing and implementing fundraising campaigns, initiatives, strategies and tactics.
The ideal candidate has a Post-Secondary Degree in Marketing & Communications, Public Relations, Sales, Business or other related areas and has 2 years of relevant experience. With a proven ability managing results driven projects and events, ideally in the area of fundraising, the successful candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to write funding and partnership proposals, grant applications, sponsorship packages and activity reports. Gifted with a naturally strategic mind, s/he is a proven relationship manager with experience securing major gifts personally as well as within a team environment and has a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively while always maintaining a high level of integrity and respect. The candidate must have a driver’s license and be available to travel throughout the province leading BIJ’s fundraising efforts. Experience working in the field of youth entrepreneurship will be considered an asset.
Remuneration is between $40,000 and 45,000 annually based on experience plus a performance bonus structure.
